How did you become interested in librarianship?

Childhood experiences, desire to teach, appreciation of public education, interest in literacy and knowledge aquirement

Describe the first time you worked in a library.

I was in middle school volunteering in the children's section of my main public library. I worked at the summer children's reading program booth.

What is your current or recent role in LAUC, either locally or systemwide?: 

I have served as secretary of LAUC-R. I have also serve or have participated in the past on the diversity, professional development and research, programs, and mentoring committees.

What do you like best about being a UC librarian?

The comradery and network of librarians within the UC system, as well as throughout southern California.

Describe a recent or current project on which you are working.

I am working on establishing a peer learning community within the university honors department.

What would you like the next big thing in libraries to be?

User centered spaces and integrated student services within the library.

I never thought I would become an educator.

The Autobiography of a Brown Buffalo is an amazing bildungsroman set in the Southwest and in California.
